Wine’d Em & Grind Em With The New X&Y Bottle Electric Coffee Grinder

So there you are, you’ve got your bags packed tight for your long weekend trip, and the only space left is a single slot in your 12-bottle wine suitcase. But oh no! You forgot to pack your coffee grinder. What do you do now, there’s no room left? Luckily for you, there’s the X&Y Bottle Electric Coffee Grinder, an all-new rechargeable portable coffee grinder that’s shaped like a bottle, because why not. And it’s live on Kickstarter now.

Created by XY Design, the coffee gear brand behind the O-Kettle and the Shadow Kettle, the Bottle is a pan-grinder, with 45 adjustable grinds settings from espresso to French press. It features stainless steel burrs and a 20g coffee capacity—that can extend to 80g for larger batches, and the sealable hopper bottom doubles as a grinds receptacle. It also claims to be “compact and portable” whereas other hand grinders have “similar clunky designs” and “lack a coffee vibe,” which is a questionable claim that I won’t hold that against them.

The Bottle also features a “twist-type bean hopper lid” that they state, “ensures no spills—just clean, effortless refilling.” To me, it looks like your grinder has a little mouth and you get to feed it some nummy coffee from a spoon. Open wide, here comes the choo-choo!

With over three weeks left in the campaign, the X&Y Bottle Electric Coffee Grinder has raised nearly $17,000, well past its $5,000 goal. Would-be backers can still get their hands on steep discounts, including a Bottle grinder of their own for just $89, roughly 26% off the $129 MSRP. Rewards are expected to begin shipping in June of this year.
